UDMFC closed out the regular season last week against Miami United
UD Miami FC visited Miami United for the last game of the regular season. With a possible number one finish on the southern conference in mind, UDMFC started off the game with a strong defensive shape that was able to win the ball in crucial defensive situations and generate options on the other end. The game would stay leveled at 0 until the 44th minute of the first half, where a defensive mistake out of the back would give the lead to Miami United after a cross found a lonely forward for a simple header.
The second half started with UDMFC decided to chase after a result. The team was able to generate a few good looks at goal down the flanks but was unable to level the game early in the second half. Eventually, a well-executed counterattack down the right wing would yield the equalizer for UD Miami.
The game would close out with good looks at goal for both teams, the best of which came late in the second half when UDMFC had an open net chance that just went over the post.
With this 1-1 draw, the team finished second in the conference and is now preparing for the first round of playoffs.
